Coach's thoughts: "
As a freshman at Pontotoc High School, Shelby led the team in scoring, and to the 4A State High School Championship game. She was even named "Player of the Year" by the local newspaper. Honors not typically given to freshmen. Shelby hasn't stopped gaining the honors, she is a key part of her club team's defense playing the holding midfielder position. She is very strong technically and seems to be comfortable with the physical side of the game if needed. If she does get into the attacking position she has the composure to make the most of her chances."

Coach's thoughts: "Mackenzie is a member of the same team that new Demon goalkeeper Alex Latham is on. She was the heart and soul of the defensive backline that finished third in the nation in the ECNL. To have both her and Alex is something we are thrilled about. Mackenzie doesn't know how to lose, she has been a winner since U12 when winning Florida State Cup and she has continued to win while playing at a higher and higher level. She has received numerous awards in high school from All-County, and All-Conference to the team defensive award. We lover her composure out there and she has played against some of the absolute best forwards in the country in her age group and she continually comes out on top. We are thrilled to have her compliment our returning defensive players."

Coach's thoughts: "Esdeina is one of those players who has a tremendous amount of respect for the game and what it takes to work hard. Something that fans never get to see, but coaches appreciate so much. She has been a solid midfield player for a long time, but she has all of the sudden made her mark lately up front as a forward. We are not sure exactly which position we will use her but excited about the different opportunities that she brings to the field."

Cache comes to us from a traditionally strong soccer club in Northern California. She has a lot of family nearby in Dallas. We had been impressed with her at different events throughout the country, but when my assistant coach saw her at a summer camp, we knew that she would be someone who could help us. She is very fast and we feel like she can help us get in behind opponents. We wanted to improve our team speed, and our attack and she will certainly play a role in that area."

"Sage's coach came to us and said that our school would be the perfect fit for her. We went to see her play and within 30 minutes we agreed that she would be a good fit for us as well. We love her composure, very calm on the ball and can cover a lot of ground. She isn't the tallest player on the field yet she takes tremendous pride in being strong in the air, and isn't afraid to battle anyone. Once she committed some of our friends who coach at college's in that part of the country congratulated us on getting what they feel would be an impact player for us."

Coach's thoughts: "Jessica is a very determined forward. We had the chance to see her at a soccer camp do some things and we liked her. Then we would always get updates about her scoring goals, and it is something she seems to do quite a bit of, so we couldn't ignore that. She really seemed comfortable on campus and with the team and we hope that she can continue to keep scoring goals."

Coach's thoughts: "Chandler was someone that kind of fell out of the sky onto our radar. Our first conversations and notes with her were so impressive that we felt like we really needed to look at a player from out of our region. We were very impressed with her versatility, comfortable at a few different spots in the midfield. She is composed on the ball and has really developed her vision, seeing how the game is unfolding at that moment and making the right decision with the ball. She has good speed, was a state qualifier for the High School State Track meet as an eighth grader. When you get to know her and see her accomplishments on and off the field, you certainly know that she isn't afraid to work hard. She is ranked number one in her class academically and we have a great appreciation for that as well."

Coach's thoughts: "Allison will provide some relief from the loss of our graduating seniors on the defensive line. She has good speed, and is certainly comfortable paying the physical price needed in the collegiate game. She interprets the game well and her work rate is second to none. Coaches and opposing players will notice Allison during the game for her reliability and persistence."

Coach's thoughts: "Amy is a very deceiving player. She isn't the tallest player, but don't let that fool you. She can tackle as hard as anyone. In fact recently her club team moved her to defender. She is very versatile. Comfortable anywhere in the midfield and now as an outside defender. She has a lot of experience, she recently traveled to Mexico and played against the Mexican U-17 National team. We not exactly sure where she will play, but I think she will be hard pressed to keep off the field."

Personal: Daughter of Connie and Stephen Roney… one brother, Tyler… born May 20, 1996… plans to major in biology… wants to get her master's degree in occupational therapy.
Coach's thoughts: "Payton was one of those attacking players who stood out the instant we saw her team play. She has a tremendous work ethic and is very competitive, absolutely hates to lose. Her high school team has won 2 state championships and was runner-up twice at the 5A level. She has been named All-State 3 times. She is fast as well, was on the track team and was district champion in the 400 meter and runner-up in 800 meter. She has done all this and has maintained a 3.9 grade point average. We really feel like she is one of the best players you could get in the state of Mississippi this year."

We continued to follow her at various tournaments over the summer and we knew we had to have her. We take pride in being strong in the goalkeeper position and we like what she is going to bring to us at NSU."
