Lady Demons host ULM on Friday

NATCHITOCHES – After a tough three-match road trip last week the Northwestern State women's tennis team returns home on Friday afternoon to host in-state rival Louisiana-Monroe at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex at 1:30.
 
The Lady Demons (3-3) went 1-2 on the road last week, falling to Southern Methodist and Texas-San Antonio and defeating Texas State.
 
The Warhawks enter the match at a perfect 4-0 after sweeping Alcorn State 7-0 last Saturday.
 
Junior Polina Konop and freshman Natalya Krutova lead NSU in singles competition with each sporting a 5-1 record.
 
Konop went 2-1 and earned her first win at the No. 1 position last week, defeating UTSA's Jacobea Junger 6-3, 6-3 while Krutova went 2-1 at the No. 3 spot.
 
Konop and Krutova have teamed up to go 3-3 as the No. 2 doubles team.
 
Sophomore Tatiana Larina and Senior Andrea Nedorostova lead the Lady Demons in doubles action with a 5-1 record at the No. 1 spot.
 
Larina is 3-3 in singles play at the first and second spots and Nedorostova sits at 4-2 in the fourth position.
 
ULM currently has four players who have registered 4-0 singles records this season.
 
The Lady Demons host Arkansas State next Saturday at 11 o'clock.
