Tennis hosts second annual Lady Demon Invite this weekend

NATCHITOCHES – The fall tennis schedule continues at home this weekend for the Northwestern State team as they prepare to host the Second Annual Lady Demon Invite at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
 
The three-day tournament will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the first matches scheduled at 8:30 a.m. each day.  
 
Top returning players for NSU include senior captain Andrea Nedorostova, 2012 Southland Conference and Louisiana Freshman of the Year Tatiana Larina and first-team All-SLC performer Polina Konop, each were 2012 All-Louisiana selections as well.
 
“We are excited to be hosting the Second Annual Lady Demon Tennis Fall Invite,” said NSU head tennis coach Patric Dubois. “We will have nine quality teams participating at our home facility this weekend.”
 
NSU will compete against teams from Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, Sam Houston State, Louisiana-Lafayette, New Orleans, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana-Monroe and Grambling.
 
Last weekend, the Lady Demons played in a tournament at Louisiana-Lafayette's Ragin' Cajuns Invitational which included players from Arkansas State, Lamar, McNeese State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana Monroe and ULL.
 
Freshman Daniela Simonova advanced to the championship match of her flight before falling to ULM's Justyna Krol 6-2, 6-0.
 
“It will be nice to see where we are at this point of the season while enjoying our home facility,” said Dubois. “We enjoy the great support that we receive from the Natchitoches community, who we invite to come out and see some great tennis this weekend.”
 
The Lady Demons head to Tuscaloosa, Ala., next weekend for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Tournament.
