NATCHITOCHES -- Food and beverages will be available to fans free of charge Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4 in the Demon Alley Tailgating Zone before the Northwestern State football team's final preseason scrimmage at 6 in Turpin Stadium.

The NSU Alumni Association, the NSU Athletic Association and the Graduate 'N' Club are providing grilled sausage, chicken jambalaya and a variety of beverages free of charge under the Alumni Association tent in its traditional location on the old practice fields just south of Turpin Stadium.

The Alumni Association's complimentary food and beverages will begin at the seven home games this fall at 3:30 for the six games with evening kickoffs (6 p.m.) and at 11:30 on the morning of the 2 o'clock kickoff for the Oct. 25 homecoming game.

The Demon football team will be wearing game gear and there will be public address system calling the action Wednesday evening, along with a live broadcast of the scrimmage on the flagship station for the Demon Sports Network, 100.7 FM KZBL in Natchitoches.

Northwestern officially kicks off the season on Saturday, Aug. 30 with a 6 o'clock matchup against Texas A&M-Commerce.
