NATCHITOCHES – Sophomore left-handed pitcher Brett
Fredieu tossed six shutout innings in leading his Team Wolfpack to a 9-0,
7-inning win over Team Dirtbags in the final game of the Demon World Series and
clinching the title for the Wolfpack.
Fredieu allowed just three hits and struckout three
batters while freshman lefty Jacob Williford completed the shutout with a
strong seventh inning.
The Wolfpack, coached by former Demon Mike Jaworski,
wasted little time in jumping on the board as they scored three runs in the
bottom of the first off of Team Dirtbag starter Colin Bear.
Trent Grondin and Matt Yerby led the Wolfpack at the
plate by going 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively. Grondin also drove in two runs while Yerby stole a pair of
bases.
Third baseman Adam Roy helped out with three RBIs for
the series champions.
The Demon World Series concludes the fall practice
session for NSU.
